About

Hi there!
I have Auditory Processing Disorder (APD). What is APD you might ask? APD is the difficulty of listening/processing sound (especially voices), which can also cause difficulty hearing in background noise. These aspects diminish the quality of ones learning and causes miscommunication when talking to others. Like everyone, each case of APD is unique and no experience is the same for anyone. My second language is American Sign Language (ASL), which is an excellent way to communicate visually! And wouldn’t you know, I am also Hard of Hearing, so sign language is really a great escape for me.

This blog is meant to share the highlights and trials of having APD (sometimes in my perspective and not solely research), and where those who have family and friends with APD can gain valuable information, connect with others, and share familiar experiences.

Feel free to comment, share, or like posts and links on this blog. I rightfully own all the written and posted material on this blog unless otherwise stated. If you would like to share any copyrighted material (outside of the ‘share now’ menu links provided), I ask that you gain my permission and give full author credit. Thank you.
